Setting it up
- Install CleanCut on the iPhone or iPad you keep near the TV, on the same Wi-Fi as the Apple TV.
- Open it, pick your Apple TV, and type in the code that appears on the television. Once.
- Choose whether profanity is muted or skipped, and switch off any words you don’t mind hearing. Changes apply mid-episode.
- Press play in Prime Video. Nothing to configure on the Prime Video side. Pair CleanCut with the Apple TV once, then press play in Prime Video as usual.

Does CleanCut filter Prime Video Channels like MGM+ or STARZ?
Yes, when you watch them inside the Prime Video app. Channels are filtered the same way as the rest of Prime Video. The channels' own standalone apps are a separate case and are not covered.
Does it work on the ad-supported Prime Video plan?
Yes. The subtitle file is timed to the film, not to the ad breaks, so after a break the filter can land a little early or late. Mic Sync on the Pro plan listens for a few seconds and lines it back up; on any plan you can nudge the timing by hand.
Can it skip scenes in Prime Video, not just mute words?
It works from the dialogue. Profanity can be muted or skipped past, line by line, and you choose which. It does not detect violence or nudity, because it reads subtitles rather than the picture.
